Dear customers,
Our bank was subjected to unauthorised data access following a cyber-attack on an external IT service provider. As a result, data belonging to V-Bank was compromised.
Immediately after the incident was detected, we started working intensively with internal and external cyber incident experts to conclusively establishh the facts of the case. The forensic investigations are currently ongoing.
At this stage, we can state the following with certainty:
- Our security systems proved effecitve. At no point did the perpetrators gain access to V-Bank accounts. This also applies to all account access and authentication data (usernames and passwords).
- No funds have been misappropriated.
- All of V-Bank’s IT systems are stable and fully operational.
- All our services remain fully available to you.
Regrettably, however, the perpetrators were able to personal data of all of our customers. We sincerely apologise for this.
What you can do now:
- Please be alert to any suspicious e-mails, messages or phone calls.
- We at V-Bank will never ask you for your password or PIN by telephone, e-mail or text message. Never disclose this information to third parties.
Our primary aim is to minimise any impacts and prevent any potential harm to our customers and business partners.
We will keep you informed on an ongoing and transparent basis, both digitally and by post.
